As we enter into the second quarter of 2017, we look back at how fast this year is already going by!
We are so grateful for the many volunteers, partners, and donors who have been a part of what we do to help single women move forward toward a more stable lifestyle!
A year ago we moved into our new location on Shady Grove Road. We have been moving and growing fast ever since. New women are hearing about the services we provide while many of our past clients have come back to say “Hi” or for a little more encouragement. New friends and volunteers have stopped by the community center to help out with the food pantry, the shoe drive or to see the space and chat for a bit.
We are so grateful for the opportunity Shady Grove UMC, has given to us with the use of the house for our mission of helping single women and single mothers. The increased awareness the new location has afforded The Sophie House is counted in the many blessings we are grateful for daily!
April is National Volunteer Month, let’s celebrate it by donating and/or volunteering at The Sophie House. Your regular monthly donations, as little as $25 a month, can help with a counseling session, fresh produce for a week, classes and more! We have programs that need volunteers; Easter egg hunt, Food Pantry, 5K and much more!
We would love to hear your experience and how you are a part of The Sophie House. Tell us at #SophieVolunteer on Facebook and Instagram. If you are looking for support or want to give your support, let use know how we can help you!
“I come here, I love to volunteer here and help out as much as I possibly can”
Let’s support our Sophie Women
Help The Sophie House participants keep moving forward through encouragement and support. Many of these women are in need of services like counseling and financial assistance to get back on track. Your regular monthly donations or one time donations can help with recurring counseling sessions, child care subsidy, classes and more!
We would welcome your monthly contribution to help provide the funding for these important services The Sophie House provides to our clients.
“I get so much support when I come here”

Service Spotlight & A HUGE Thank You to ALL of OUR VOLUNTEERS, #SophieVolunteer
April is National Volunteer Month and we want to highlight all of our volunteers! No matter if you donate your time or money, you matter to The Sophie House. No matter if you have donated once or weekly, you matter to The Sophie House. We wouldn’t be where we are today if you didn’t volunteer for The Sophie House!
The Sophie House needs volunteers to reach our mission of offering supportive services for single women and women with children. When you volunteer, you also matter to our clients. We Thank You with all of our hearts! Your support never goes unnoticed.
