The Sophie House Community Center
We have been working really hard at The Sophie House Community Center. This past month we have been busy cleaning up and working with youth groups and other crews. Colossians 3:23-25 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Thank you for those who given so graciously and happily from your heart!

Shoe Drive Kicking Off!
June 1- August 8th
As of June 1st, we are putting the pedal to the metal ( so to speak) for our Sophie House Shoe Drive! At The Sophie House we want you to put your feet in someone’s elses shoes. It’s hard to live on a shoe-string budget and still have money left over for shoes! We encourage you to walk a mile in their shoes…and give, donate, and support our Sophie House Shoe Drive! Don’t start off on the wrong foot! If you’re tough as old boots or comfortable as an old shoe, let’s put in place the fact that the baby needs shoes! And, for that matter so do the girls, boys, women and men! So if you have any lightly used shoes you’re ready to donate, don’t drag your feet, jump in with both and drop them off in our red box at The Sophie House, 4771 Shady Grove Rd. Whether you believe it or not, this will help take the load off . Plus, your donation will help another stand on their own two feet. The shoe drive begins June 1st and will run through August 8th…so have a sole! Please deliver any gently worn or outgrown shoes; women, men and children’s. They should be in good condition; Please, no holes or excessively worn soles.
If you know of a student looking for a community service project or if your business or office group would like to help organize a collection, please contact Rebecca Blackwell here for flyers, to schedule a time to drop off/deliver, and we will showcase your efforts through Facebook and our website. Sweep us up off our feet and get your foot in the door, put your best foot forward. Show us what you can do!
