Rebecca is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a BS in Business Administration and Management. Prior to coming to The Sophie House, she worked with First Things First, now Relationship Foundation of Virginia, teaching interpersonal skills, event planning, and coalition leadership. In addition, she brings prior staffing, management, and banking experience to the organization.
Rebecca joined The Sophie House team in 2014 as the director of operations through which she used skills in case management to assess both the financial and emotional needs of our clients. She worked with the clients to provide options to meet their needs and move them into more stable situations. She continues to develop programs to suit the many individual needs our clients and now also works with businesses and investors to grow the mission of The Sophie House through networking, marketing, and speaking opportunities. She has a passion for families and a heart for spreading the love of Jesus Christ to others.
Rebecca has been married to a wonderful man, Mark, since 1996 and they have 3 terrific children. Rebecca and her family are members at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. She and her husband are active in the marriage ministry, while their children also attend and participate in various programs at the church. Their two older children are in college and working while the youngest is very active in sports. Rebecca was previously also a gymnastic coach and has a passion for helping people achieve physical and emotional wholeness in life.
Kay joined The Sophie House team in 2017. She has a passion for helping women. She believes that given the proper resources and opportunities, women can successfully provide for their family and she does an amazing job speaking with clients to address their current financial and emotional situations. She meets the clients where they are and helps them move toward independence and stability.
Kay has been married to her wonderful husband since 2003 and they have two very active children. She is actively involved with her children’s school PTA and is a Girl Scout troop leader. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family at kids’ sports activities, camping, and going to the beach.
